The following is one quotation for a Singaporean organisation to host a seminar in Yangon for 50 people.
The correspondence is published for the benefit of other prospective customers so that they can have an idea of the costs involved for 50 persons.
I am Dr Sing from Design Travel Pte Ltd. Below is the quotation.
1. It is not possible to accommodate all 50 in one hotel at the moment as the Middle East, American, European and Asian businessmen are in full force at Yangon presently paying much more than tourists for the two hotels mentioned here.
2. The two hotels are of good quality for Singaporeans and are within a 10-minute drive. I love the Kandawgyi Palace Hotel (stayed there) as it is facing a lake.
3. Sin-Yangon air fares and visa fees are not included. Air fares today, Silk Air or MAI is $450 for air fares and $60/person visa application in Singapore. Airport tax is paid by the individua at the Yangon Airport on departure. Total, excluding Airport Tax will be $510 for this part.
4. Total in quotation (below and 2-hour seminar) = S$575 and for Paragraph 3 = $510. Estimated total = $1,085.

The above tour price doesn't include MAI flight tickets and Visa fee.
For your information, If we issue MAI flight tickets here it will cost about 380 USD / pax for 2 weeks ticket.
If the time is in promotion period, the flight fare would be around 310 USD/pax for 2 weeks ticket.
So, it would be better if you could get flight tickets in your country.
Regarding with visa, it can be obtain on arrival visa for those who are traveling with business passport.
If your group hold business passport they could get on arrival visa with 40 USD/pax for 28 days staying.
If they haven't and need our assistant it will cost 90 USD/pax for any necessary arrangement, including such as guide who is essential in obtaining on arrival visa and for any relating documents.
According to the right of hotels for conference room, we shall have at least 2 hours using that has been included in the tour price.
You can have extra hours and if so there will be extra charges. On the day of Seminar, we have included lunch at hotels and dinner at nice and clean restaurant. If you like to include tea break time, there will have to add 15 USD/pax extra charges to the cost of conference room. We would appreciate if you could let us know how long it is going to take for seminar and whether you will add tea time brake.

In Myanmar, there are 2 types of hotel operators. One is licensed to operate the hotel for the locals and the other is licensed for tourists.
4-star hotel accommodation is in great demand nowadays as the supply is low. It is sometimes not possible to secure a booking for 50 people in one particular hotel. However, Sedona Hotel has the place.
Hotels want 50% deposit as the following email shows.

The following are quotations for customised Myanmar tourism from Design Travel Pte Ltd for 40 Singaporeans (twin-sharing) for company retreat in Myanmar
1. 40 PEOPLE WANTING TO HOLD A SEMINAR IN MYANMAR IN OCT 2012
Day 1: Arrive at Yangon
Day 2: Yangon - Heho - Inle Lake (flight+car+boat)
Day 3: Inle - Heho - yangon (evening flight+boat+car).
Day 4: Yangon Sightseeing+Departure
There has no room especially for Seminar at all of the hotels in Inle lake.
But they can arrange for you at dinning room and will levy some charges.
As your group is 40 persons, it will not easy to get the rooms at the same hotel as hotel booking are so tight this year.
You may have to staying separately at two or three hotels. This year, all of the hotels asking for deposit 50 % at the time of booking confirmation to be able to make secure the room because of tight booking.
We can arrange this trip with US$ 500 /pax for 40 persons.

Mar 7, 2012 update on Myanmar tourism from Singaporeans
Recently there is a great interest from Singaporeans to travel to Myanmar as compared to 2 years ago when many Singaporeans perceive that Myanmar was a dangerous tourist destination.
The following has happened in March 2012, since the political opening and lifting of sanctions by the Western countries:
1. Most 4- and 5-star hotels are fully booked.
2. Some middle-east businessmen offer higher room rates and book the whole floor.
Prices have increased.
3. More NGOs visit Yangon now increasing hotel occupancy.
4. Domestic airfares have gone up.
5. Silk Air flights are full nowadays. MAI flights are also filling up fast.
6. There is just insufficient number of 4- and 5-star hotels built.
7. 3-star hotels are clean but many Singaporeans prefer the 4- and 5-star hotels.
In general, tourism costs are generally higher than in Cambodia and Thailand.

20. Feb 2012. Myanmar tourism explodes
On Feb 22, 2012, I spoke with my Myanmar travel agent partner about the latest in Myanmar tourism since the U.S has made contacts with the politicians and Aung San Sui Kyi is allowed to be in politics openly.
The following are the latest happenings in Myanmar tourism.
1. A sudden surge in tourist arrivals
2. Very difficult to find 4- and 5-star accommodation in Yangon's hotels due to the increase in businessman visitors from the Middle East and from Non-Governmental Organisations. The Middle East tourists rent the whole floor and pays 50% more, according to my partner.
3. Therefore, there is insufficient hotel rooms for tourists who want 4- and 5-star hotel. There are 2- and 3-star accommodation and they are safe, decent and clean too.
4. The administrators want to build a subway in Yangon and had approached the governments of Singapore and Japan as both have the experience.
The investors are given the land to build and both share the profits.
